I'm working on an ACL framework that snaps in under the various *info
files.

Could someone please tell me if it is possible (without patching the CVS
code) to obtain the CVS pid?

I can do this when the server is being accessed via, e.g., :pserver: or
:ext: or :server:--the current directory for all *info files is
something like /tmp/cvsserv-3093 where 3093 is the pid. But for the
local case that won't work.

Also I thought I could get this via the getppid() (get parent's pid)
function in C and perl, but apparently the same process does not invoke
all *info subprocesses! How odd.

Any comments welcome.

Cheers,
Laird
