I configured pserver with the following passwd:
anonymous::nobody
to provide anonymous access to the repository and it seems to work
fine except that CVS insists on creating locks inside the modules
directory despite the fact that access is read-only:
cvs server: failed to create lock directory in repository `/var/cvs/auction':
Permission denied
cvs server: failed to obtain dir lock in repository `/var/cvs/auction'
cvs [server aborted]: read lock failed - giving up
Is there a way avoiding this lock creation phase?
