WinCVS and SSH

I am using WinCVS and have a CVS server configured on a Linux box.  The box
has SSH access.  I tried configuring WinCVS to use SSH (by setting
Authentication to "SSH server"), but I can't get it to work.  When I attempt
to do a login, I get the message: "Set the password authentication first in
the preferences !"

Has anyone done this before?
