So, let me make sure I have this straight -- your $CVSROOT directory
looks something like:
CVSROOT dir1 dir2 dir3
You went to some other directory completely outside the $CVSROOT tree
and did:
$ cvs checkout .
Is that right? (I doubt it, because if it were, you would have a
CVSROOT directory in addition to dir1, dir2, and dir3, which you haven't
mentioned). Does your "parent directory" have a CVS subdirectory? If
so, what Entries* files does it contain and what are their contents?
And what version of CVS are you running and is it local or
client/server?
