The built-in list is not inescapable -- a ! in any ignore list clears
out everything that came before it, including the built-in list.  Did
you by any chance use ``-I !'' on that import command?  If not, check
for $CVSROOT/CVSROOT/cvsignore or .cvsignore files in any of the
directories you imported that have a ! in them; *something* overrode the
built-in list.
