CVS newbie

[Sabarwal, Shailendra (Shal), ALSVC]

I have installed CVS on HP-UX-10.20. My question is is there a way to stamp
executable binaries that are checked in.
With SCCS there were some directives like #ident. And running the "what"
command gave the version number and other info that was #ident'd.
Is there a way in CVS that something similar could be done?
