Well, after 1.5 days i finally got Templates to work on my local
version of CVS client and wincvs1.1b15 client. Now, i want to put in
a verifymsg template to check for the bug ID. I bet someone had to
do it before, so please help...My verifymsg has:

DEFAULT $CVSROOT/CVSROOT/bugid.verify

My bugid.verify has:

if head -1 < $1 | grep '^<Enter Bug Number> :[ ]*[0-9][0-9]*$'
> /dev/null; then
        echo good
        exit 0
else
        echo bad
        exit 0
fi

when i try to commit a changed file i get:

cvs commit -m "<Enter Defect Number>:333" crazy.cpp (in directory
D:\MyDir\crazy\)
cvs [commit aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages
if any)

any ideas, suggestions, experiences...TIA, Julia

it's amazing how much of a struggle it's been
