Howdy Carlos,

Your English is perfect.

We have a large repository also, some 5000 files in 180 or so
directories, 2.5 million lines of code over 8 years, probably
30 more braches, hundreds of tags.

In the three years I've been working for the company, I've noticed
some slowdown, which I attribute to a number of things, including a
crappy overused machine as the cvs server, triple the number of people
hitting the server from offices around the world (not to mention clogging
the network with mp3 downloads :), and, yes, the growth
of the repository.

If you've ever peeked inside one of teh ,v files in the repository,
you've seen that the file contains (I think) the latest mainline version
of the file, followed by all the patches to apply to get any other version
of the file. So, the more branches and revisions, the longer a checkout or
an update to a specific revision could take.

I've been trying to get a faster machine for a while. Here's hoping you have
better luck.

Rob
