"cvs status" and newly added files

Hello,   Is there a way to get CVS to report on files newly added to a module by another user?   "cvs status" reports no information on a newly added file if it was another user (not me) who added new files to the module in the repository.    But if I do, "cvs status newfilename", cvs tells me about the new file.  This does not seem fair since I most likely would not know the name of the new file since I did not add it.   Thank you,   Debra
