RCS check-in....

Hello,
   Is there any way to make a RCS check in without having the
workfile 
deleted? If I execute "ci -l Xpto", the file is checked in and then 
checked out again. I need to check in the file and have the workfile
in the working directory with Read Only permissions.
   Does any one have any idea how can I afford this?
