Ok, I did. And when I try to checkout a project (as a user), I get this
returned:
cvs server: cannot open /root/.cvsignore: Permission denied
cvs [server aborted]: can't chdir(/root): Permission denied
Um...ok? Why is it trying to read /root/.cvsignore?
