Accessing Remore repository as root

Hi
 
  Thank you all who helped me to resolve file sharing issue.

  Now I want to know that if it possible to access remote
 repository as 'root' from local machine. I have permission
 to login as a root in remote machine. My problem
 is that I can checkout the files but couldn't 'commit'.
