In that case, my guess is that somewhere in your 600+MB history file you
have one or more invalid records; the history parsing code isn't very
robust and is apt to SEGV when confronted with a bad record.  I've just
checked in a change to fix that so you may want to try downloading the
current development version (see www.cvshome.org for details) and see if
it works any better.
