I use cvs 1.11 and WinCvs 1.11b16
In $CVSROOT/CVSROOT/passwd file I make a CVS user account mapped to linux
account:
reader:Q1mrz0Xn3BwEEn:cvsuser
I can login with that username/password, but if checkout I get an error
message:
"cvs checkout: authorization failed: server myhost.ru rejected access to
/repository for user cvsuser
cvs checkout: used empty password; try "cvs login" with a real password"
This is a log from WinCvs:

cvs checkout -P css (in directory C:\projects)
