Yes, the problem is a repository on a shared disk.  You can scan the archive for
past threads on this topic, but I think the usual problem has something to do
with file locking, though I think I remember someone mentioning something about
NULL chars too.

Anyhow, workspace errors can be annoying but are much easier to recover form
anyhow.
