Yeah.  Basically, import would have to look up the tip of the vendor branch
before execution to obtain the list of files present during the last
import.

A picture is worth 10k words, but only if the words describe the
picture.  Very few arbitrary sets of 10k words can be adequately
replaced with a picture.
