I haven't a clue -- standard CVS doesn't have either -L or -P so I
presume they have something to do with the patch you applied.

No, the RCS functionality has been built-in to CVS for quite some time
now.  You're not getting an invalid option or unknown command message,
so the problem appears to be that CVS simply isn't seeing the "pserver"
at the end of the command line for some reason.  Do you have an
unpatched version of CVS 1.11 that you could try to see if the problem
is related to the patch or not?
