That SIGSEGV and is almost certainly a bug in CVS. Are you running the
latest release (1.11)? Most likely, the server ran out of memory. It
should have detected the problem, reported it, and terminated cleanly,
but it didn't; it crashed.

If you look in that directory, you should see a core file from CVS --
if you can use a debugger to get a traceback showing where the crash
occurred, it would be a big help.
