As an exercise in teaching myself a bit of perl, and trying to come up
with something useful, I've come up with a script that generates
graphical plots of RCS archive activity. It also handles hierarchies of
archive directories, so it should work fine with CVS (although I haven't
used it much in this environment).

If you are interested - check out
http://www.igilmour.freeserve.co.uk/rcsplot.htm

The code hasn't been exhaustively tested, so be warned. But I've used it
on archives consisting of hierarchies of RCS directories with a few
hundred files and 500,000+ lines of code with no problems.

If something like this already exists, I couldn't find it. I'd be
interested in links to similar tools, and any feedback.

cheers,

Ian Gilmour
