Problem logging in WINCVS

I have set up the CVS server in Linux RedHat.   We tried setting up the CVS
client through WINCVS in Windows 98.  

I have given the preferences as below
:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/cvsroot/<modulename>

When I try to login it says

Logging into [EMAIL PROTECTED]
unknown host 192.168.160.229.

But I am able to telnet that machine if I ping that server also it gives
proper response.  Not able to figure out where the problem is.

Can anyone help.
