CVS needs to recognize ipv6 addresses and hostname replies with ipv6
addresses. At least in connect (-d directive) it needs an ipv6 support.

Just try "cvs -d :pserver:user@::1:/some/path/cvsroot co module".
Note, that ::1 is an ipv6 address for localhost.
