Nobody's listening to your requests.  And no, this is not a CVS
question.  Ask your admin on how to setup networked services and
how to diagnose network related problems.  See the "netstat(8)"
manpage for starters and use the locally available resources,
consult the logfiles when command output is not sufficient.
