Does cvs -nq update help? I think that way it doesn't output the
"Directory" lines.
Note that the files don't actually "have" a "status" of
"Up-to-date"--and there's nothing in the CVS/Entries file that says
"this file is out of date". cvs status merely checks each file you
request (recursively) to see whether it is up-to-date. It doesn't save
that information, it just outputs it.

Yes, I know. But our project currently contains 500 source files. So,
cvs update produces a lot of output. What I need is a status output for
those files whose status is different from "Up-to-date".
