I just answered that on comp.software.config-mgmt ! Anyway, no problem.
$ cvs tag my_branch_bp
$ cvs tag -b my_branch
$ cvs update -rmy_branch
$ cvs commit
hack, hack, hack...
$ cvs commit
hack, hack...
