Just as a side note I'd like to point out that SCCS does have very good
branch support (though unlike RCS it doesn't try to go insane and allow
nearly infinite branching of branches), but because of the lack of
symbolic names it does sometimes require an external naming convention
to map meaning onto the branch numbers....
