I think the easiest way to do this (although I may be biased) is to install one or some of the patches available at SourceForge under project RCVS. The patches I'm thinking of will add checking to edit and commit. Developers will need to modify their .cvsrc files to default to the right command options and they'll have to learn to use edit if they don't already.
Hope this helps, Noel --- Ronald Landheer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello all, > > I work for a french company where the people don't > know, and don't actually > want to try CVS, with the exception of myself, a > developer that;'s leaving, > and the development manager (who doesn't know CVS, > but wants to try). > Now, they want to automatically lock a file when > it's checked out "because > other version control systems do it" - which AFAIK > is not actually true :| > My question: is this possible, and what is the > easiest way to implement it > from the server-side if it is possible? > > Thanx! > > Ronald > > NB: I really love CVS, use it all the time, and > don't like solving > non-existent problems too much, but am ordered to do > so.. > > > _________________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Get your free @yahoo.com address at > http://mail.yahoo.com > > > _______________________________________________ > Info-cvs mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-cvs __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
