I know that You have the directory "broadcasting" in this workspace, (where you ran "cvs -n up") but you did not add it from this workspace and you did not check it out in this workspace. So cvs doesn't know anything about the local directory "broadcasting". If you move aside the existing broadcasting directory and use the -d option to update, you will probably get the directory from the repository. If you do a fresh checkout in an empty directory, you will get this directory from the repository. Please don't be careless with using upper and lower case when explaining a problem like this.
