Authorization failed

Server :

RedHat Linux 7.2

CVS version 1.11.1p1

Client :

Win 2K

CVS 1.11

Issue :

When I try cvs -d:pserver:user1:@foo.bar.com:/home/cvsroot login

I get the following error

cvs login: authorization failed: server foo.bar.com rejected access to /home/cvsroot for user1

I have a passwd file based authentication setup on the client and have a passwd file on the server.

When I try to do a cvs login from the server using a different usernames they succeed but fails when I try from the NT client, any clues or direction is appreciated.
