Kerberos is only an authentication and authorisation protocol. While it
can also be used to share keys that could be used for transport
encryption, CVS does not use it for that purpose.
You'll probably find SSH is easier to use securely through a firewall too
(unless your firewall admin has some strange and unjustifiable concerns
about silly things like covert channels and such! ;-)
