We had a similiar problem.

the problem seems to be caused by the -T flag in the perl execution
line. We are running apache 1.3.19 on a Sun server. Perl version is
5.005_03.

This is taken from error_log on the server:

>>
Insecure $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch at
/usr/local/apache/htdocs/cvsweb/cvsweb_new.cgi line 2716.
[Tue Apr 2 11:09:42 2002] [error] [client 10.0.30.17] Premature end of
script headers: /usr/local/apache/htdocs/cvsweb/cvsweb_new.cgi
<<

We removed the -T and it worked.

But it looks like we cannot get the diff's properly. The diff screen is
initially always empty. If I later choose, context diff, then the result
is shown as text in the browser...

I believe the diff command on Sun does not support some options like
-u
--side-by-side
etc.

W
What is the solution?
Is it possible to keep -T?
which diff supports the options mentioned above.

Did u modified cvsweb.cgi for the path of your configuration file (
where
your cvsweb.conf is located) and the repository path?

Subject: Configuration of cvsweb

Hi,

Anyone know about the configuration of cvsweb? I need it urgently. I
tried to install it with
many ways, but I can't.
I use Apache and Mandrake. The file httpd.conf was configuraded to
permit access the cgi
scripts, when I run cvsweb.cgi the message appear:

"Internal Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was
unable
to complete your
request.
Please contact the server administrator, root@desenv_tux and inform them
of
the time the
error occurred, and anything you might have done
that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error
log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while
trying
to use an
ErrorDocument to handle the request. "

In Apache, I configured the ScritAlias like this:

  "ScritAlias /cgi-bin/ /var/www/html/cgi-bin/"
and
the files of cvsweb are in:
   /var/www/html/cgi-bin/cvsweb/
and
I copy cvsweb.conf to /usr/local/apache/conf

I need a cvs that run in the server urgently.

If someone can help me....
(ps.: sorry about my english....)
Thanks.
