Thanks Pierre - $Name$ was just what we wanted. Kind regards, Sonam

In other words, we do a 'cvs >export' of a tagged branch as part of our release process. I wanted to capture >the tag name of the cvs-*exported* branch by processing a CVS variable in a >file. This does not seem possible. There's the $Name$ keyword, but it won't give you the name of the branch, just the name of the *release* you exported. It makes no difference if the release is on a branch or on the trunk. Note: you shouldn't export and ship with a branch tag, because you won't know what you shipped. You get the tip of the branch, and that changes as the branch grows. _______________________________________________ Info-cvs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-cvs _______________________________________________ Info-cvs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-cvs
