My system uses links to the CVS repository, and I have never had a problem with the links. The repository resides on a LINUX computer and is accessed via pserver from both LINUX and MS computers. This is a RAID box that also has my home directory on it. At the moment the repository is in my home directory for ease of maintainablity. There is a soft link at /usr/local/cvs that points to my directory. I have already tested moving it and just changing the soft link. On my system this all seems to work great.
