Thank you for the pointer. Based on your note, I skimmed the SourceForge site and agree that it's a very interesting project (http://aegis.sourceforge.net/).
Ultimately, I expect I'll stick with CVS because of the larger user community, smooth Windows interfaces, and RCS pedigree (which helps sooth ruffled admin feathers who sometimes balk at having "untrusted apps" installed on their servers).
