Hello all.  I am responsible for Configuration Management at my company and relatively new to CVS.  Now, as in the past, I have worked extensively with CM Synergy (a.k.a. Continuus/CM), and I find that I've taken some of the Continuus functionality for granted.  I have two questions.

1. Can CVS be made more hack-proof (e.g. owner permissions on RCS files in the CVSROOT)?

2. Can tags be made permanent (no deletions or reuse)?

Based on what I've read, I don't expect either exercise to be a trivial undertaking, but I'd be very interested in hearing success stories, ideas, possible approaches, etc.

Thanks much.
