cvs via http

Is there a way to access a remote cvs repository via http? I've looked on-line and found some web browsers, but not any tools that allow you to access your CVS repository using the http protocol. I saw one reference about a patch that might be applied but no responses to it. Anyway, if there is some software or some way to configure cvs to access a remote repository through http, please let me know.
