You can certainly checkout a tree

   cvs checkout -r branch-name -D "2 days ago" module.2daysold

with recent cvs versions. I am not sure if diff can do the job for you
alone... then you could 

   cvs checkout -r branch-name module.now

   diff -x CVS -rup module.2daysold module.now

to get the diffs you want.
