I wanted to know what exactly is meant by "deploying" software. I work in a project being developed in C (for Windows and Linux platforms) and we use CVS for version control. Can we use CVS for deploying?
By "deploying" I assume you mean creating a product and shipping it to customers or users.
As far as CVS is concerned, you would tag the files that will be used to create the product and then export (or checkout if you prefer) those files. After that, CVS is done and it's up to your other tools and processes.
