"pserver" is a CVS command like "checkout", "update", etc. The very
first thing on the inetd.conf line should be "cvspserver" to match
what's in /etc/services, the very last thing on the line should be
"pserver" which is the CVS command to run.

Like I said, if inetd is still complaining about "cvspserver" being an
unknown service, then you must be using some facility other than
/etc/services for your service definitions.
