If it's any consolation, you can restrict the ../CVSROOT directory (itself) permissions to the world, even though some of the files in it are rwx to the world.
I figured on that...still makes me nervous.
So, any chance that this situation might change in the future and accessing CVS via SSH might honor the 'readers' and 'writers' files or some other, better, method?
