Hi,

1. Assuming you are using the latest CVS ( ie 1.11.11 / 14 / 15)
2. Is your network connectivity stable , you are connecting thru hostname /
IP. Prefer you connect with IP.
3. Is this being observed by every CVS client
4. Well there seems no problem in adding the folders though it does not add
recursively, do import module. Also is the WinCVS 1.3.x a beta one. may also
try using 1.2

Subject: WinCVS and unknown host

Hello,

we use CVS 1.11 under Linux (suse) and WinCVS 1.3.13.2 on Win2000 and
WinXPprofessional clients.

Sometimes WinCVS looses contact to the Server and reports an "unknown
host" problem. All other access to the server like samba, ftp is then
still possible.
There are no apparent circumstances under which this behaviour is shown.

To us it seems to be at random.

Under Windows XP it is not possible to add directories to the rep.

Thanks for any ideas.

Christiane
