If you are the only one who will be working on the source, then this will work OK.
Personally, I'd rather copy the checked-out tree to the media, and move that back and forth. Since you use the same platform at work and at home, line-endings won't be an issue.
Thank you very much for your help. It makes sense to copy the sandbox from one machine to the other. And also to regularly backup the repository.
