Thanks for any help. > > Steve Unless you are exporting those documents out to (real not MSextended) CSV or XML formats, so that they are now ascii text, those documents are binary, and you DO NOT want CVS mucking about in them. This is why when you add or import a word doc you give it the -kb flag.
