As I mentioned earlier, WANDisco's product ACL control goes beyond the
underlying OS permission. It provides group hierarchy. User
authentication is still done by the underlying OS. The permission is
not only restricted to module/directory/file level but can also be
restrict to a specific IP address or a branch. For example, QA group is
only given access to release branch and so forth.

Not to mention the generation of different reports for auditing
purposes (product is SOX complient).
