Hi, We have bunch of new development effort going on with Cognos and we use CVS for Source Code and Version Control.
There are lots of binary project files which are generated in the IDE. A set of files created for a run are not relevant with the new run of the project. The approach being taken is to delete current set of files (so that the files which are irrelevant in the future don't just sit around creating confusion) with cvs remove from a Windows machine with Tortoise CVS as the Gui and then re-add the files afresh. But this is causing a bit of grief since the updates are not taking place as desired. Also we are using cvs edit functionality to emulate file locking so other person does not change a file while a person has a lock on it. Does any one have any experience in handling such \ similar kind of situations? Any help or pointer in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I googled but did not get any good relevant hits. Thank you very much in advance for your time.
