Ok, there are a couple of "interesting" things in that environment that could be causing the problem: the union mount and the NFS mounts. Based on the error you're getting, I believe that the problem is on the client side rather than the server side -- it looks like the client can't get the path to the directory where you're running it, which I'm guessing is somewhere under your NFS-mounted home directory. It looks like you tried running "cvs version" in /tmp and still got the save error, which would point to the union mount as the source of the problem. > since we use the rpm version of cvs i do not have any idea how to > debug. could you give us a hint?
