CVS Configuration

Hi all,
         I configured CVS on Fedora Core 9 machine. When I accessed the
server from a client and issued a command to import a directory into cvs, it
gave me the following error.
$ cvs import -m "Initialized the project" ProjectX TestProject release_0_1
Cannot access /home/cvsroot/CVSROOT
Permission denied

Can any one help me out of this problem?
