I used imtest and received the following: . examine inbox * FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Draft \Deleted \Seen) * OK [PERMANENTFLAGS ()] * 8 EXISTS * 0 RECENT * OK [UNSEEN 2] * OK [UIDVALIDITY 1005855686] * OK [UIDNEXT 1544] . OK [READ-ONLY] Completed No ALERTS.... However, I downloaded Netscape's mail client and tried it, and _did_ receive a popup warning. So, it does appear to be a client issue... Should I be concerned that my EXAMINE didn't alert me? I'm using Cyrus IMAP 2.0.16, btw. Thanks, --kip
