What client? Outlook? I'm guessing it doesn't like the UIDs that Cyrus is issuing via the UIDL command, even though they are legal per RFC 1939.
I have advised him that if he wants to leave the emails on our servers then he should use Imap instead of pop3.
True, but this *should* work with a standards-compliant POP3 client.
