Good morning list,

some weeks ago I sent an question regarding this problem, and now I'll try it again.

Subject is:
can't send emails eg. to [EMAIL PROTECTED], or
resp. [EMAIL PROTECTED] anymore, with
installed cyrus-imap 2.2.9 & 2.2.10.
Emails can be send to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
(Above is an example - no email could be send to any subscribed
shared-folder (mailboxes with prefix "share").)

You have two problems:

Ups ...

1. the altnamespace prefixes are only used for presentation to IMAP clients, they are not used for mail delivery. mail delivery bascially uses the admin's view of the mailstore

Aaahhhh ... ok.
But as it worked in the past I always used it - I guess I basically misunderstood the description of it ...

2. you have postuser set to 'cyrus', so anything that you want to sent to a shared mailbox must be sent to this "user"

so, try sending to cyrus+<mailbox>, e.g.:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

That works pretty fine!
I just created an new account called mailsystem, set 'postuser = mailsystem', and changed my fetchmail scripts to:
'is mailsystem+share.lists...'

You don't have to create the 'mailsystem' user, as it doesn't need to correspond to an actual user. In fact if you don't set 'postuser' the post address is just +<mailbox>

And now I have two more questions:
a) is it possible to auto-subscribe to all lists with prefix 'share.', so I don't have to logon to that mailbox to do the subscription manually?

There is an autocreate/autosubscribe patch which has been discussed elsewhere on the list.

b) why did the way I explained work in the past? (I'm not kidding!)

I have know idea. It was never *designed* to work that way.
