Be aware that a lot of things have changed between 1.5 and 2.1.
Documentation written for 1.5 does not match 2.1; this is a
major cause for trouble.
Debian sarge ships both cyrus-1.5 (packages cyrus-*) and 
cyrus-2.1 (packages cyrus21-*). If you are running imapd
and suchlike from inetd, I guess you are runnig 1.5.
